FELIXSTOWE SCRIBBLERS PEN PICTURES
Richard (Dick) Bradshaw.
Richard was born in Wood Green, North London and moved to Felixstowe in
1968. Since retiring from Primary School teaching in Ipswich, he published
a four volume series for children entitled 'FEATHERED TALES.' These were
published between 1998 and 2002. Many of his poems have been published
and some been judged winners in national poetry competitions. Was a prolific
member of The Lost Sock scriptwriters. He joined the Scribblers in 2003
and has been a loyal committee member for over two years. [May 2006]
Morag Clarke.

A
Geordie by birth, but a long time resident of Trimley, Morag is married
with two grown up children. Until recently worked in Woodbridge Library
but has now changed her career and works in a local vets. She writes novels
in her 'spare time' and has had 'A LOVE BETRAYED' and 'GREEN WELLIES AND
WAX JACKETS' with two more as e-books on Little Lemur. Morag has also
had several short stories published in Women's Weekly, True Romances,
Women's Story and My Story. She has also won a local newspaper's writing
competition and been featured on local television after winning an on-line
writing competition. Morag joined the Scribblers in 1985 and then after
an absence of several years rejoined the group and is now a committee
member.

Judy Clements.
Judy joined Scribblers just over two years ago. Her main hobbies are landscape
painting in oils and seeing as much of the world as possible - and there
can't be many corners of the globe she hasn't discovered. Through all
her trips abroad she took up writing travel articles, of which some have
been published in magazines. She is writing a book about the eight years
she spent living and sailing aboard her boat which is bound to be a fascinating

Ruth Dugdall.
Ruth
lives in Felixstowe with her husband Andrew and two young children. She
has been published in two national anthologies and had success in several
writing competitions, the most notable as winner of the Debut Dagger Award
with her second novel, 'THE WOMAN BEFORE ME'. Her first, 'THE JAMES VERSION',
a fictionalised account of the notorious Red Barn Murder at Polstead was
very well received and has put her on the path to a successful writing

Scott Fairburn.
Born in London, Scott has been a member of the Scribblers for well over
three years. A shoe repairer by trade in the family business 'Mr Cobbler'
in Felixstowe, he is always busy be it writing, learning the guitar, keeping
fit at the gym and pursuing his spiritual development. He has had an article
published in a Shoe Repair magazine and four more in Best magazine. Preferring
to write about animals and inanimate objects, his work is quite humorous
and lately he has begun to write for the children's market. [May 2006]
Christine Hughes.
Her varied occupations have included an active business life, music and
racing pigeons. She always wished to put her imaginative skills into stories
and poetry and thanks her grandson Luke who encouraged her to join the
Felixstowe Scribblers and her daughter Rachel for her supportive interest.

Peter Jeffries.
Born in Clopton, this son of Suffolk declares that school was irksome,
out of school was fun! Growing up was exciting. Living has been exhilarating.
Various practical pursuits have taken him around the globe and back to
his birthplace. Being a Suffolk countryman has never left him though he
is not sure whether he should swing a hammer or drive a tractor. Fostering
his writing interests Peter joined the Scribblers two years ago. [May

Gordon Maton.
Born in Stowmarket, Gordon lives in Ipswich and is married with two grown-up
children. A loyal football fan, he has been a member of Felixstowe Scribblers
for three years after being pestered by his daughter to join. He likes
to write short stories and other odds and ends, all in a light hearted
nature and is thoroughly appreciated by his fellow writers.

Jan McGeachie.
Married to her second husband Gordon, Jan has two grown-up daughters Cara
and Helen. Having lived both in the town and by the sea, she is now domiciled
in Yorkshire where she took on the role of organiser of the Online Jotters.
She loves writing and has won a radio poetry competition and now submits
short stories to women's magazines and continues entering competitions.

Stephen Tuthill
Stephen is now a full-time student at University Campus Suffolk, but for
six years worked full-time for a local supermarket in which he can still
be seen three days a week. His hobbies outside of college include, cultural,
political and environmental affairs; he is also working towards being
a fully warranted Sea Scout Leader. He is a keen cyclist, and much of
this comes from a deep and personal concern in looking after the environment.
He tends to write interpersonal relationship stories, and subjects concerning
environmental matters.(March 2008)
Diane Relf.
A single mother of one energetic youngster, Diane has lived in Suffolk
for 19 years and loves the beautiful East Anglian countryside. Her passion
for creative writing has currently taken a back seat as she studies hard
for a degree in history. [May 2006]
Liliane Sivaraj.
Born in Antwerp over seventy years ago, she had some English forebears.
She grew up in her native Antwerp, apart from the war years in England.
She settled in this country after her marriage in 1958 and moved to Felixstowe
at the end of 2003 where she soon found the Scribblers. She started to
write short stories just to circulate in a correspondence magazine and
to amuse friends but just enjoys writing as a hobby. A valued member of
the Scribblers, her work is both captivating and often quite humorous.

Les Smith.
A former decorator, restaurateur, salesman, stonemason, butler etc., who,
in search of some sort of direction in his new capacity as a retired older
person. Les says he failed miserably in his attempts at art, pottery and
china painting which he gave up half way along the great wall!!!! He has
quickly learnt the craft of creative writing and confesses to being helped
by his friends at the
scribblers. Most of the items he has so far produced he claims are relative
rubbish - the rest of the Scribblers would differ from that point of view,
always enjoying his very humorous work. One of life's gentleman and a
real charmer! [May 2006]
Caz Wilkinson.
A housewife and mother, Caz was born in Tidworth, Hampshire. She enjoys
writing poetry, has had several poems broadcast on BBC Radio Suffolk and
read others out on Ipswich Community Radio. Two have been selected and
published in anthologies whilst she hopes one day to publish a book of
her poems in aid of a cancer charity. Caz has been a member of the group
for several years, has been an enthusiastic helper in all the functions
and became a founder member and treasurer of the newly formed committee.

Jack Wilkinson.
Our youngest member, Jack joined as an eight-year old and has attended
meetings
fairly regularly over the last four years. A fun loving character, Jack
is a
very talented writer who enjoys poetry and became the first ever winner
of the
Online Scribblers Poetry Competition. Known to arrive at a meeting he
will create
a gem of a poem during the meeting. He loves wildlife and recently flew
a peregrine
falcon, his all time favourite bird. Amongst his other hobbies are fencing
and
cycling, especially for charity. [May 2006]
Allen Williams.
One of the senior members, Allen has been a Scribbler for over four years
although illness has limited his attendances recently. A Welsh rugby fan
and a former rum bosun in the Royal Navy, Allen has been published in
technical journals. A lover of dialogue and master of mirth, his ambition
has been to write for radio and stage. [May 2006]
Lisa Turner Smith.
Surrey born Lisa joined Scribblers a year ago because she wanted to meet
other writers. With interests in Short Stories and Radio Plays Lisa's
early work covered young motherhood. Studying on the Writers Bureau Course,
she has already had lots of short stories published in magazines whilst
she received some extremely encouraging feedback on a radio play that
she submitted to the BBC. A very talented writer, Lisa's ambition is to
write for television and radio. [May 2006]
Zoë Basquil.
Born in Reading, Zoë is one of our newest members having joined just
six months ago. Her love of writing has resulted in publication of several
poems in church focus magazines. Interested in most genres, Zoë is
a talented poet but has produced some captivating short stories. She enjoys
her writing and hopes one day to achieve publication. [May 2006]
Tony Shearman.
Born
in Charlton, London, Tony is an avid theatre fan both on and off stage.
A tournament bridge teacher and player, Tony has written and had stage
plays also four short comedy sketches performed at festivals. Tony became
interested and joined the Scribblers following the Culturama event in
2004. Basically writing for enjoyment he knows that everyone has a book
in them and is currently writing one. Another of The Lost Sock writing
team but with a starring role in the series.

Alex P.
Born in Edgbaston, Birmingham, Alex joined the Scribblers two years ago
after leaving a small and now defunct writers group in Ipswich. He considers
himself to be at the beginning of his career with interest in journalism,
short stories and some poetry. Alex believes that many folk are either
frustrated novelists or write for therapeutic reasons whilst he writes
for a hobby and the sheer crafting of words. A far better writer than
he believes, Alex has produced some tremendous writing over the past months
despite utilising one of his many talents in creating our weblog and new
website. A very valued committee member. [May 2006]
Rochelle
Moore.
A member of Online Scribblers, Rochelle resides in Ireland and is an author
of metaphysical and self-help books. These include KARMA - change your
life, AROMATHERAPY; HERBALISM and her third book WHEN THE LEVEE BREAKS
which is due to be released in late June 2006 by www.mandala-press.com.
Rochelle is also a well-known poet and has won awards in both the UK and
the USA for her work. Her poetry is featured in magazines, books, online
and her first poetry
collection will be released at the end of this Summer by www.sunrisingpoetry.com.
In her spare time Rochelle is a freelance writer, loves natural remedies,
nature and horses.
